Not to be brusque in my first comment here, but Pamela Johnson kicks ass. The work looks amazing online but is completely different (and much better) in person. Not to be missed.

It's nice to see that the concept I had made my life works about in sculpture for 9 years in the 70's and 80's is being carried on through painting.

I admire the drive with which you are working out a simple and accessible idea. You mentioned the crossover with advertising art. Of course, you are dealing with photo realism with a heavy conceptual aspect of pop art and sign painting. A background in science leads to an approach which, though equally valid, is different from the more emotional and intuitive approach of most artists. It will not be easy to perceive, from small reproductions, what differentiates your work from advertising or sign art. In person and close up, the subtleties of the hand painted surface will be more apparent. It will be interesting to see what twists and turns lie ahead.
