Ruprecht - you paint beautifully. I also find the rubber installation works very compelling. Allowing the material to sway and buckle as it wants to do is a nice decision and I like the combination of the hard-edged, cut out narrative with the soft, but industrial material.

awesome, thanks so much for this great interview. von kaufmann is one of my favorite younger artists and the primary reason i visit ann nathan gallery in chicago. his works are exciting, revelatory, and constantly shifting while at the same time participating in dense histories and investigations. inspirational and inventive - here's hoping for a high quality book to be published on his work soon!
