Yes. The Chicago History Museum, The Cultural Center, Corbett and Dempsey and a few others are doing a wonderful job. I hope that the Art Institute and the MCA follow their lead on the topic of Chicago Artists – -

Chicago has such a rich history of art. One of the best shows (and most important, IMHO) in this city in the last decade was the recent “Big Picture: A New View of Chicago Painting” show at the Chicago History Museum, which was curated by Corbett and Dempsey.

I think CvsD is serving as a kind of historical Kunsthalle — a wholey new and exciting idea, filling a gap of vast importance. real history.

CvsD has had some of the best shows in the city recently including Joe Gotto and Maurice Barazani. This is a gallery that is consistently doing work that deserves our attention and support. Thanks for mentioning them here, as well as this great painter.
