Jeffery McNary has mastered the illusion of painting pictures through word imagery. Real time and dream time, captured through sensuous images and profound insights, line by line, give us a glimpse of truth and beauty at the same time. Who better to comment on the art world’s wonderments?

Yes, a comfort it is, to learn about a clear, intelligent and caring critic.
The art world is blessed!

I came across Chicago Art Review a few weeks ago and happy I did. The site has some interesting, honest and insightful reviews. I am also happy that I was introduced to Jeffery per the site. Good things keep popping up in the Chicago art scene...

McNary is most welcome addition, a voice from a "world" other than our too hermetic Art Establishment. Except for his recommendation of Josue Pellot work (now-tired, over-obvious socio-political slant), McNary describes well the works he views, writes spare prose, and enlivens the artwork and his review with real, "conditio humana" responses.
