Chicago Openings – September 5, 2014
On the scene: Despite all the rain, and rain, and more rain, gallery hoppers came out in droves to kick off the fall openings. It was a festive evening. Zg Gallery featured intriguing work by Jackie Tileston. Judy Saslow Gallery didn’t go wrong with Jordon Scott … we love the stamps! While under construction, Zolla/Lieberman Gallery is occupying space on the floor above. Their group show aptly titled ReAnimate features some of their heavy hitters including William Conger, Vera Klement, and Dan Ramirez who were all present. Kathleen Waterloo‘s work at Dan Addington Gallery is a must-see. AdventureLand Gallery featured some fantastic works on paper by Robin Dluzen. Kim Piotrowski‘s works at Linda Warren Projects should not be missed … check out the painted wall! The clunker of the evening was Ann Nathan Gallery. Nothing against the work on the walls but the space itself felt tired, dark and somber. It appeared the only thing they weren’t selling was the kitchen sink … and what’s with the Cheetos.
